🔌 A Handsome Charger😏¦ 1

*Mum:* Koobee! *Me:* Yess Maa!  *Mum:* Did you say goodbye to Ofa Atta? *Me:* Errrm, I think so.  *Mum:* Well I'm just seeing his nineteen missed calls.  *Me:* Ohhoo! Nineteen whaaat?  Well, my little uncle, 'Operation Man', as they affectionately called him was becoming so annoying. Ever since the computer posted me to his Alma mater,  he never seized to amaze me with so much attention.  My first choice to 'Accra Aca' backfired when he was kicked out of Italy.  Ofa Atta did all he could to force his sister to change my preferred high school. Just Imagine! I was so bored; I refused to eat for three days and  two nights. Every evening, Ofa came home to chat with Mum about the big men who had passed through the school.  He kept mentioning names like General Afrifa, Kojo Botsio,  Gbedemah, Sam Jonah, Stephen Appiah  bla bla bla. Eventually, I threw in the towel. Yes! I found solace in Ephesians 6:6 of the Bible.   Yet, what p...

🔌A Handsome Charger😏| Prologe

Friday, 23th October, 2009, STC coaches to Cape Coast were fully booked. Of course, an all-knowing Auntie Sabina had influenced my decision to wear an unprescribed khaki pant. I was first to arrive at the stop. I sat on the front row  of the bus unassuming, anxious, with no idea the end from the genesis of my 4-year stay on the hill. Two-hour drive from Ring Road West through to Mankessim. My  good self fell; fell asleep. How ridiculous! The gentleman who sat next to me couldn't sit for the final WASSCE exams. He's in heaven as I speak.  Six shapeless beautys alighted at Mfantiman School, seven and half guys 'dropped' few meters to our destination.  I didn't witness the direction those squad from KwaBotwe took thereafter. In fact, I can't fathom the number of pages this true story of ours entails. Would you mind counting from now onwards?  Life has  thought us several interesting courses: the ones we trailed, the few we excelled, some of which we had to res...

Ghana Cedi : The Looping Journey

GHANA CEDI  Ghana's currency has come a long way. It has pass through 4 generations one colonial and 3 Ghanaian cedi revolutions. An intelligent guess after looking through successive changes reveals reasons such as political sentiments, macroeconomic indicators such as inflation, exchange rates. The physical look of the currency  both coin and bank notes has interesting characters ;obverse and reverse. The first cedi had the picture of Nkrumah on the observe. That shouldn't have been a big deal Britain our former masters still has their Queen Elizabeth till date.  Ghana's First President Nkrumah   introduced the Cedi to replace the ancient West African Pound also patronised used by Nigeria,Liberia,Senegal,Guinea. His reason was to convert to decimal system widely used other than the British imperial system. Consequently this new country carried the picture of Almighty Nkrumah during the days of union government.  Mind you before Nkrumah's Cedi ,Gold Coast ...

FORGET-ME-NOT

Ironically, we mostly see them in bushes, solitary places and rarely approach them due to their tininess I guess. They really feel what we feel towards them. "Forget-me-not", they cry! Forget-Me-Not plants symbolize true love. The forget-me-not flowers are a medium, "true blue". And as the name suggests, they are given or used to decorate gifts with the hope the recipient will not forget the giver. It also symbolizes faithful love and memories. Fiction has it that after God named all the flowers in the garden, one little flower cried, "forget-me-not" and God decided that, that would be the perfect name for the little flower. Have you noticed something peculiar about life? We early ignore people who love us dearly to pay attention to those who merely do. Isn't this kind of weird? Well, tomorrow marks another unforgettable moment in the life of someone. Sunday is National Forget-Me-Not Day. We have witnessed times and seasons when we thought our hope had...

Here in Ghana, a baby who fortunately grows a single milk tooth is not delayed.  He/she is quickly enrolled into Creche. CHAPTER 559:

The Joy when one gets what one wishes Bitter Sweet National Service Experiences I wasn't amazed when GhanaWeb reported that newly posted national  service personnel had to throng Ghana Airports for endorsement . In fact, this is no news at all; it has become an annual ritual. Do you know the amount of time, sweat, funds I had to invest in other to get a befitting institution to serve? Experience indeed is a good teacher. I can't imagine eleven months had just elapsed into seven days of quality experience. Don't get me wrong; in case you are thinking I had a paradisical service as those Airport space fighters in the news are wishing for then you better find a well-cushioned sofa to sit and read on. In mother Ghana, every graduate from the tertiary caucus is mandated to undergo at least one year service to the nation.
